Frequently asked questions

Working with Caritas Research.

What partners usually ask us before a first engagement.

What kind of organisations do you work with?
NGOs, non-profits, and social enterprises — particularly those running programmes in education, sanitation, health, financial inclusion, and related social-development areas. We also work with funders and partner research organisations on evidence reviews and behavioural science inputs.
What geographies do you cover?
Our active work is concentrated in Bangladesh and India, supported by a team based in the United Kingdom and India. We can work in other South Asian contexts if the fit is right.
What does a typical engagement look like?
Most engagements begin with a scoping conversation to understand the programme and the decision the research will support. From there, we agree the brief, the method, the deliverables, and the handover approach. Engagements run from short evidence reviews (a few weeks) through to full multi-phase evaluations that run alongside programme delivery.
Do you only work with projects that already have funding?
No. A significant part of our work is helping partners build the evidence base for a funding application in the first place — through landscape mapping, proposal drafting, and providing the methodological credibility funders look for.
Can you join a project that is already in flight?
Yes. We often step in partway through — for example, to turn data that has already been collected into an evaluation, or to re-open a research design that is not producing the insight the programme needs.
Who on the team will I work with?
Engagements are led by one of the co-founders with supporting input from our behavioural scientist and specialists as the brief requires. You can read more about the team on the Team page.
How are projects priced?
Pricing depends on scope, duration, and the mix of methods. We are happy to provide an indicative quote after the first scoping conversation. As a small non-profit consultancy, we try to keep rates proportionate to the size of the partner we are working with.
How do we get started?
Write to us at info@caritasresearch.com with a short description of the programme, the decision you are trying to make, and any timeline or budget constraints. A short note helps us give a useful response at the first pass.
